About Valley Settlement House

Valley Settlement House was built in 1897 and is serving the current age. Valley Settlement House is the oldest Settlement House in the state of New Jersey and the third Settlement House in the United States of America. Providing high quality childcare, Valley Settlement continues to assist parents in raising healthy, happy children.

What Are the Children Doing?

Preschool Program

It is an integral part of our curricuclum to provide students with hands-on experiences. Activities are focused on motor development and student-to-student language development.

Fire Prevention Week was celebrated in October. In addition to receiving an educational to-go bag, the children were instructed on fire safety. This gave our children a clearer understanding of fire drills and actions needed to ensure safety

Wightman’s Farms was a fun experience. We had the opportunity to ride on the tractor to the pumpkin patch, find our way through a corn maze, play in the corn pit and enjoy lovely fall treats.

Our garden is flourishing, thanks to our young gardeners. We certainly have many green thumbs among us.
